We like to be transparent about our product and manufacturing process...

Ingredients

Water, Coconut Sugar, Ceremonial Grade Japanese Matcha (1.5%/3g), Natural Flavourings, Thickener (Xanthan Gum), Colour (Copper Chlorophyllin), Salt, Citric Acid.

Where Our Matcha Comes From

Our matcha is sourced from a family farm in the Kagoshima region of Japan. The farm has been passed from generation to generation and is now the largest independent tea producer in Japan.

We have acquired all of the necessary paper work to ensure the matcha is grown sustainably, the workers are treated well and paid fairly and the soil and quality of matcha are that of organic quality. Yes, our matcha is grown in organic qualified fields, however, we do not pay for organic certification so cannot use this on packaging and marketing.

How Best To Consume Yaki Da Matcha

Our delicious bottled matcha is best serve chilled, either straight from a refrigerator or poured over a few cubes of filtered ice. We must say, it's still pretty yummy at room temperature.

Don't forget to give the bottle a good shake to whisk the matcha up! Some separation is normal due to the powdered nature of matcha settling in the liquid, a brisk shake or stir will do just the trick.

Our Packaging

We're the first to admit that we're not perfect when it comes to packaging but we do promise that we will continually reinvest in designing and using the most sustainable and eco-friendly packaging we can.

As a fairly new start-up still producing relatively small quantities (less than 100,000 units a year), we are limited in our choice of materials at prices within our margins. We could produce 100% recycled bamboo protective casings, but it would add £30 to each order... you see our dilemma.

For now, we are committed to working with our suppliers to use recycled cardboard, glass and paper for our packaging as it is highly sustainable and recyclable.

We don't use plastic in our product or packaging. We don't use harmful dye or toxic inks in our printing process.

We are continually working on reducing our carbon footprint and the footprint we are leaving behind as a company in general.

If our community has suggestions on ways to improve our sustainable practises or products we'd love to hear from you on contact@drinkyakida.com
